ERICH LINDENBERG ART FOUNDATION
In September 2006, two years before his 70th birthday, Erich Lindenberg died suddenly in his studio in Kreuzberg, Berlin. His vast oeuvre, spread essentially between Berlin and Munich, was in danger of falling into oblivion within a short time.
This was avoided thanks to a promise made at the time by fellow painter Mareen Koch to take care of his legacy in the future. In agreement with Erich's brother Udo Lindenberg, she took over the bequest and arranged the collection in the Erich Lindenberg Art Foundation.
The Erich Lindenberg Art Foundation, founded by Mrs. Mareen Koch in May 2008, aims to scientifically rework and analyze, preserve and present to the public the works of the now deceased German artist. Based in Porza, the archive and bequest is curated and managed by Tiziana Lotti Tramezzani.
Mareen Koch studied from 1963 to 1969 with Erich Lindenberg at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. To this period dates a deep friendship destined to last until the death in 2006 of this extraordinary artist. Bound by a promise made in her youthful years, that of taking care of his great artistic legacy, today Mareen Koch realizes it with the creation of the Erich Lindenberg Art Foundation, to which she is dedicated with great passion and enthusiasm.
Tiziana Lotti Tramezzani was born in 1978 in Zurich. In 2004 she graduated in contemporary art, English literature and art history “soutien” (sociology of performance and image) from the University of Lausanne. He worked as a guide and didactics manager for several years in several museums in Ticino, and in 2006 he coordinated the Massimo Cavalli exhibition at the cantonal art museum in Lugano. In 2007 he held a cultural salon in the Mya Lurgo Gallery in Lugano, while accepting a position as a lecturer of contemporary art at the Zurich High School of Art. For some time now she has worked as a “Match-maker” for the Locarno Film Festival and continues to remain active as a guide for museums in Ticino. Today she is curator of the collection of the Erich Lindenberg Art Foundation and works closely with Ms. Mareen Koch, in the creation of a cultural house based in Porza.
